aera | Bpro Event Report @ C3AFA2017 (Part 2/2)

Previously on Bpro Report Part 1...

Without realizing, it's already (only?) been two weeks since the event...

Quick explanation! Tbh I've had the report's notes done ever since the Part 1, but I've been wanting to write it out in paragraphs for the report. w But.... since it's clear that I haven't had the time to sit down for 4-5 hours to type out the report, I've finally decided to post the notes instead lol

....Not that I think anyone's still interested in the report (*'▽') Archival purposes!!

~~~ Disclaimer: Because it's by memo memory (at 2.30AM) and my attention at the event, some things I mention MIGHT not be accurate, or necessarily what actually happened. I'll say it's majorly what really happened at the event though, but feel free to point out anything I missed or interpreted wrongly. Oh, and not to forget, multiple and possible weird sentences. ~~~

Small notes on my way to the event w
~~*tries to recall 4 months ago memory*~~

Meet my fellow partners for the event: Wennie and Jolyn! :D

After the end of Bpro's main stage, we left the main stage area straight for the venue to line up, in hopes for a better view

...Not surprisingly, the queue was already super long when we reached :'D (I'm guessing some of them missed the main stage to queue straight for this ww)

In the end we ended up at the bottom right corner of the room www But it's kinda nice because we had tons of space at the back I guess, and we didn't need to be squeezed at all (it wasn't all that far away too!)

And now for the main part!
Note: Because I wrote them as pointers (and half of it was at another point of time), the flow and grammar etc is gonna be.... really weird (lol) I tried my best to be in sequence tho! :x

Opening

Kakki walking in normally, while Tosshi peeks behind the door, did the escalator-down walk before getting on stage

MC asking if it's actually okay to just go full JP for the panel, but since there's about 5% that couldn't get JP, she continued to translate for the rest of the panel

At one point Tosshi joked that because Kakki understands english too, he'll be the only person that doesn't get what in the world is going on in the room

While going through the history of Bpro, Kakki started going nemui nemui to Tosshi behind the mic, and Tosshi started laughing w

He explained that it's because he just had chicken rice, and is kinda having a food coma

Kakki then request for (tiger) beer, saying that he will definitely be more awake after drinking

Suddenly he took out eye drops to use (dry eyes + to stay awake?) and started to tear

Tosshi requested for tissues then, but before the staff passed them tissues he tore a bit of the sketchbook paper for Kakki to use as wipes www (Kakki: this is the best tissue ever)

MC asked how was the recording, and if there was any memorable occasion during the recording sessions

Kakki started off mentioned that Bpro has zero amateurs within the cast and everyone were professionals (which also hints a lot of fooling around)....and passed the baton to Tosshi on whether there were happenings before he listed any ww

Tosshi mentioned that the recording was pretty smooth, because most of the cast already had a grasp of their characters when the recording for the anime started, thanks to the CD recordings

Tosshi's shared about this occasion during recording where he had a nose hair sticking out

and that nose hair was kinda like blown in and out while he spoke? so he got really distracted by it (MC: Is this safe to talk about? w)

While the others were recording seriously, at the back he was getting distracted by his nose hair and kept picking his nose ww (Tosshi: Doesn't it happen to everyone?? Audience: iyaiyaiya www)

MC: So I’ll be translating what they said very quickly---
Tosshi: You’re gonna translate it!?

And the translator started translating from Kakki’s comment w (Kakki: You’re starting from there!? w)

And from then on.... hanage became the neta of the event (Tosshi: Yeah nose hair nose hair ☆)

Season 2 has been announced and (I guess it’s new news here?) they’ve roughly settled on the story and starting on character songs’ recording

Quiz: Oekaki Corner!

Draw out the answer, and loser gets batsugame. Winner gets a price, and answer is considered wrong even if it's correct, but badly drawn

Tosshi is pretty confident with his drawing skills, and Kakki mentioned that he’s confident too, because he’s an “artist(e)”

Tosshi: There’s no difference between Singapore and Japan when it comes to the fans’ love for batsugames www

First question: What is Singapore also known as? (◯◯◯◯の町, ____ City)

We naturally tried to give them hints (がお、claw hands), and the managers shhhhhh-ed us ww (whoops www) In the end we could give hints through action but no SEs w

There wasn't a "time limit" and someone started counting down from 10 (Tosshi: 10s is too short!!). It restarted and counted from 30 lol

Audience: 終了ー！
Kakki: うるさいぞー！
Tosshi: うるせええ！！！(ごうちん
MC: Please don’t pressure them w (^^;)

Tosshi's answer was Lion, while Kakki drew a Merlion

Kakki pointed out that the lion looks like Kao brand's lion w (which really did) It...had nose hair too because the audience kept calling for it www Kakki's merlion (as described by Wennie) looked like he was using a pen that was vibrating (his lines were squiggly w)

Translator: Is this correct?
Audience: Yes ~~
Tosshi: You guys are too kind w They already played the buzz!

Tosshi actually drew a merlion initially, but changed his answer

Kakki gets a half correct. Tosshi gets a buzz. And a pinpon. And a buzz again (yes for the same question). And a pinpon. AND A BUZZ AGAIN.

Tosshi: AM I RIGHT OR WRONG!? どっちなの！？(in which the staff laughs and psps)

He got a point \o/

And last question: Singapore is known for Hainanese ___ Rice (ハイナンニスチーファン). Draw the animal.

Audience flaps arms, does the egypt pose w

And the Hanage joke came back on from the audience
Audience: Hanage Hanage!!
MC: Do you have hanage fetish? (lol)
MC: I just asked them if they had hanage fetish.
Tosshi: Hanage fetish!? I don’t have hanage fetish...

Half way while drawing, they start commending themselves that they're drawing it really well

MC takes a look, pffted, and mentioned they were all unique in their own ways (個性が出てます) when asked by audience

Tosshi peaks at Kakki, bursts into laughter, and insists that it's better to start off with him (tosshi)

Audience: Is there hanage?
Tosshi: Is it better with hanage? I’ll draw it then

Tosshi drew a chicken.... a pretty realistic one w with legs crossed like a beauty pageant chicken LOL

The crowd was super amazed

Surprise surprise... it had nose hair too thanks to calling lol (it looked oshare like a mustache this time tho)

Tosshi gets a point \o/

Kakki: I can’t possibly win!

Now it's Kakki's turn, and he reveals....a horrifying (w) chicken (it had spiky hair all the way to the back, and the two balls at the throat?? was drawn...but low and looking like boobs :x)

Kakki's happy that he got it correct.... but he receives a buzz because it wasn't well drawn w [へたぴー] (Kakki: Why!? I thought you said my art was unique!?)

Tosshi won the game, and receives his price -- a bottle of Ya Kun Kaya \o/

While Tosshi asks the audience what would it best go with, someone reminded about the batsugame (in which Kakki tries to close the corner and move on www)

Batsugame was amai serifu to everyone as his character~!

Kakki whines a little, jokingly says that he won’t do it unless he gets paid (Tosshi: You’re getting paid for it!!!)

He turned around, and got into character. Said his amai serifu in front of a close 150 audience, and looked at Tosshi with a "oh gosh can i burry my face into a hole" look www Tosshi LOLed and mentioned how Kakki is really embarrassed here

Audience asks for mou ikkai!!! Kakki queues for Goushi.

Tosshi: Why!? I already have my kaya jam!!!!

Audience chants for Goushi!!! (Tosshi: (in Goushi character) URUSEEEE!!!)

Goushi kimashita. Aishiteruze. FOOOOOO

End of quiz oekaki corner!!

Chance to win a signed shikishi: Jankenpon Challenge!

Whole rooms stands up! The challenge is to play jankenpon with them.

Losers and same signs gets eliminated for the shikishi give away

Jolyn & I was knocked out first turn (orz), Wennie was knocked out second turn

An interesting view form our side was a super duper happy Ugui(sumaru) cosplayer that was super duper happy to be in the last round (or 2nd last?) XD Too bad she didn't win it..! /was secretly supporting www

It was down from 150 to about 20, then to about 10, 5 and final 4. Congratulations to the winners!

Closing

Tosshi comments that he’s had a great experience in Singapore, and that he’s amazed that we manage to learn the language through anime and radios. He mentions that he will ask Kakki to teach him English w and encourages everyone to one day stop by Japan’s events too \o/

Kakki mentions that he never imagined to be coming to Singapore (or overseas) and he’s glad to be here thanks to everyone’s support. He also mentions that while they’re representing today, he hopes one day the whole cast will be able to come too. (oneeeeday)

Passing of Fanmeet's goods!

We get to queue for the exit, and Tosshi & Kakki will be passing us Bpro goods the event came with (Included this year's AGF bag, 2 easter badges, 2 easter straps, KOC clear file and a S-kyuu para poster for this event)

(Internally panicking because oh gosh so up close)

Of course, everyone made use of the 2 seconds of receiving to say something to them. XD

The winners got personally congratulated by them too uwaaaa they were really nice! (urayama! XD)

I only managed to tell Kakki that I listen to Unison weekly (which he just graduated from this week sobs) and thanked Tosshi for coming down. XD

Initially there wasn't any box or place to leave our presents/letters for them. Thanks to the MC tho, presents were nego-ed by her, and we were able to leave presents in a box for them (すげぇありがたい！！)

イベント終了、お疲れさまでした～！！！

Additional Info:

MC's mic died. (Tosshi: Despite being in full batt?! w)

She (unknowingly?) left the mic on their desk, and had to use the podium mic instead (in which Kakki picks up the mic and ああああああああ to do a mic test w (which also made tosshi join in))

Both: You look like a sensei!

- He's thankful and surprised that people from various countries (thai, indo, etc) gathered in sg for the event, and that some came all the way from Japan too

Afterword

I...have no regrets attending the fanmeet, albeit the 3-digit price (which eventually made more sense looking at the goods that came with it) ~~and in between happenings caused by fans (which I won't mention, but easy googling might help you find out))~~

I had tons of fun overall! The interactions were great. I laughed tons. Tosshi and Kakki were both real nice. And I'm really glad I didn't miss it out. :D

I'd say the most interesting highlight from attending the event was AFTER the event ended tho: everyone started a trading session. www Because everyone found out the goods they passed us had...2 x 2 blind packs XD I've always heard about trading sessions happening in events at JP, which is why I thought it was super rare and interesting seeing it here in SG www (Honestly, when are the chances we will get a crowd with similar goods for trading? XD)

From my initial draw I had: KILLER KING & THRIVE's file, Akane & Mikado for the big badge, and Kento & Mikado for the rubber strap. \o/ My oshis were Kazuna and Momo, so it was....practically....impossible to trade for mine...at all o<-< /gave up super fast (Momo and Goushi were obviously the highest in demand that day so wwww)

Wennie struck lottery by getting Momo, (or was it Jolyn that traded with her? XD), Jolyn practically got the twins for most of her blind, I gave Akane to Jolyn for her to complete KILLER KING set XD and managed to trade with her for MooNs & ktkr's file and Mikado for Ashuu with someone later on though :D (who was late in finding out about the trading session and only came after it ended about an hour later ww)

いやぁ～～楽しかった～～

Many special thanks to Wennie & Jolyn for going to the event with me, and helping me out while I typed the notes for the report :D (for repeating the story over again when we shared what happened to our friends LOL)

Four months late for the report I may be, but reading through this makes it feel like it was just yesterday www Hopefully this will kick memories back for people, and entertain anyone new |D
